Are you a good candidate for LASIK?
The ideal candidate for LASIK is over 18
years old, with stable vision and healthy eyes. A screening
appointment will evaluate 10 factors to determine if you are a good
candidate for LASIK surgery. If you are a candidate and decide to
have LASIK, detailed measurements will be gathered in a second appointment
so that the optimal results are obtained during the LASIK procedure.
LASIK is an outpatient surgical procedure
performed by Dr. Sklar in a surgical suite at Beaumont Hospital in Royal
Oak. The only anesthetic is an eye drop that completely numbs the
surface of the eye. The LASIK procedure itself typically takes less
than 15 minutes. Most LASIK patients return to normal activities the
day after their procedure.
